Antiferroelectric Domains on the Nanoscale
Nanoscale images of the anti-ferroelectric domains on the semiconductor indium(III) selenide, shown here in multiple different colorways. While these domains are challenging to study with optical microscopy because they are on a scale below the optical diffraction limit, polarization-dependent photoemission electron microscopy (PD-PEEM) distinguishes them by directly measuring the energy- and polarization-dependent transition dipole moment.
