Billie Meadowcroft

Background

Billie Meadowcroft joined JFI in April 2025 as a Kadanoff-Rice postdoctoral fellow joint-supervised by Prof. Suri Vakuntanathan and Prof. Aaron Dinner. She received her bachelors and masters at Cambridge University in physical natural sciences, with her masters’ thesis on the physics and computational capabilities of arrays of beating cilia. She did an internship with Prof. Anatoly Kolomeisky at RICE University where she worked on modelling the noisy dynamics of transcription using master equation approaches. Recently she received her PhD in physics from University College London working on modelling the physics of variety of cellular biological processes, from active filaments that deform membranes to the mechanics of the extracellular matrix during fly wing development. She is now interested in the how to predict pattern formation during embryonic development as well as the computational capabilities of biochemical reaction networks.
