Background
Seongsoo Kim joined the JFI in November 2024 as a postdoctoral fellow in the lab of Prof. Gardel. He received B.S. in Physics from Seoul National University where he investigated the curvature dependent surface tension of a nanometer-sized liquid meniscus. He received his Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Harvard University where he studied the evolution of topological defects in crystalline materials using soft matter systems. Now, as a Chicago fellow, he is interested in understanding mechanochemical feedback in stem cell colonies.
