Over 180 researchers joined the MCAW 2023 (Midwest Cold Atom Workshop) held at the University of Chicago on 11/3 - 11/4/2023 to discuss their research interest in tutorials, invited talks and poster presentations, and to brainstorm on the future of quantum science with atoms and molecules. The MCAW meeting was initiated in 2005 by scientists at UChicago, UIUC and Argonne National Lab with about 20 participants. It is grown to the present size with researchers from Univ. of Wisconsin-Madison, Purdue University, University of Michigan, Michigan State University, Northwestern University, Kenyon College, Miami University and more.
The MCAW 2023 was organized by Hannes Bernien and JFI faculty Cheng Chin and David DeMille and sponsored by the Department of Physics, the James Franck institute, the Pritzker Molecular Engineering, NSF HQAN (Hybrid Quantum Architectures and Networks), and industrial partners AOSense, Infleqtion and Vescent.
